Three easy, fun-to-do crafts for preschoolers and their parents to help get into the Halloween spirit
As Halloween fast-approaching, it’s time for all of us to get into our spooky spirits! Participating in some themed activities is one way to do it.
Creating Halloween crafts with the family is time that your children will remember fondly. It is a great bonding experience, bringing parents and children even closer together.
Here at Amazing Explorers, we have complied three of our most favorite Halloween themed
crafts. Let’s get to the fun!
#1: LEAF GHOSTS
This is a very easy activity – perfect for all little ones! All you need is:
- Leaves from outside
- White Paint
- A black Sharpie
Have your kids collect their favorite leaves from outside. This could be an individual activity for them or the family could all go together – whichever works for you!
Next, bring the leaves inside. You might want to put down a tarp of some kind because we’re about to work with paint! You or the kids can paint the leaves they collected white, front and back.
Once they’re dry, use the Sharpie to draw two eyes on the leaf. There you have it – leaf ghosts!
#2: MONSTER ROLLS
In this craft, we will tell you how to create little monsters out of empty toilet paper rolls!
The materials needed are:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Colorful paint
- Glue
- Foam
First, your kids will need to paint their cardboard tube any color they want for the monster.
Once that is dry, poke two holes in the sides and slide the pipe cleaner through – now your monster has some crazy arms!
Now it’s time to glue on the googly eyes. It doesn’t have to be just two! You’re making a silly monster, let the kids decide how many they want.
For the mouth, cut the foam into weird shapes. After you have your desired monster mouth, glue the pieces underneath the googly eyes.
And there you have it! A Monster Roll!
#3: PAPER PLATE PUMPKINS
Let’s make some carved pumpkin face in a paper plate!
All you need is:
- Paper plates
- Orange paint
- Black and green construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
To start, have your kids paint the paper plate orange to resemble a pumpkin.
While that dries, cut out some silly shapes for the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkin! Also, cut a
stem from the green construction paper.
Now, your kids can glue the face on the pumpkins any which way they like! Don’t forget to glue the stem on the top when they’re done!
