Ms. Alma Richardson
Alma Richardson introduces herself as a 47-year-old woman. She is married to her husband Mike and is the mother of three children: TJ, a 27-year-old boy, and two girls named Faith (25) and Abella (13). Alma also proudly holds the title of “Gigi” to her 4-year-old granddaughter named Bexleigh. Alma completed her high school education in 1995 at Hico High in Hico, TX. Later, in 2012, she obtained her Associates Degree in General Studies in Education from McLennan Community College in Waco, TX.
Alma’s professional journey began in the childcare industry when her oldest child was a baby/toddler in Fort Worth. She then worked at a preschool affiliated with her hometown church and more recently served as the Director of a private preschool in the local Austin area. In addition, Alma gained experience as an assistant secretary/clerical in a high-end tax department based in Fort Worth, TX. She has also contributed to the school district as a paraprofessional, specifically for a self-contained classroom catering to special education students. Prior to assuming the role of preschool director, Alma pursued certification in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to become a Behavioral Therapist for children with Autism and other related disorders.
During her leisure time, Alma takes pleasure in various activities. She cherishes moments spent with her husband, children, granddaughter, and extended family. Alma particularly enjoys watching her youngest daughter participate in softball and other sports. She also finds delight in traveling, hiking, swimming, socializing with friends, and attending live music events. Giving back to the community holds a special place in Alma’s heart, and she actively volunteers at Rodeo Austin events. Since 2015, she has been involved with three Rodeo Austin Committees, including event staff, BBQ, and Operations.
Alma’s passion lies in working with children and witnessing their growth and learning. Consequently, she naturally gravitates towards participating in events that support and assist children of all ages.
As an educator, AEA has become my second home. It is a lovely place to work. The curriculum, the facility, the resources, and the administration are the best. They are always willing to help and support our Team. I feel so blessed to be able to inspire children and teach them with all my heart and a big smile
